Origin:Vineyard profile: The grapes come from different Garnacha plots located on the Casa La Rad estate in the Ocón Valley, within the Rioja Oriental region. Grown at an altitude of between 530 and 650 meters and surrounded by natural vegetation, these vines benefit from a diverse environment that promotes slow ripening and great aromatic richness.
The soils, composed of alluvial clays and limestone, with rockier areas at higher elevations, contribute freshness, minerality, and balance to the wine.
Vinification and aging:Vinification: Fermentation is carried out with selected yeasts in stainless steel tanks with maceration lasting between 15 and 18 days at a controlled temperature to preserve the aromatic intensity and varietal expression of the Garnacha.
Tasting notes:Bright pink in color with salmon hues, the wine has an expressive bouquet with notes of apricot, peach, and red fruits such as strawberry and redcurrant, accompanied by delicate floral aromas. On the palate, it is fresh and balanced, with good acidity, a silky texture, and a long, refreshing finish with a fruity character.
Additional comments:Tim Atkin MW ( 2024 vintage): "The village of Ausejo, in the Rioja Oriental region, is the origin of this splendid rosé, made entirely from old-vine Garnacha. Combining stainless steel and 15% slightly wood-aged components, it is a spicy and fragrant wine, with aromas of anise, red currant, and rooibos tea, and a refreshing, acidic finish. 2026-29."
