The Land of Casa La Rad.

Vineyards. Woodland. Quiet.

The corporate logo of Bodegas Casa La Rad in Rioja Oriental

Once a private hunting reserve, today a single, contiguous wine estate, Casa La Rad lies within a landscape of vineyards, woodland and quiet.

We cultivate old vines at high elevations in the foothills of the Iberian Massif, and craft single-estate wines that express, with clarity and precision, the character of this place.

The estate may be seen from the winery, or more fully discovered through a limited offering of guided experiences.

Ecodiversity beyond the familiar

You have reached the edge of the woodland.

The path rises gently from the winery.
Here, the air is different—cooler, more vivid.

Ahead, the vines march through ancient stones, where the soil barely reveals itself.

And almost without thinking, a question emerges.

What kind of wine emerges from a place like this?

Terroir

Terrain. Altitude. Character.

Great wines do not arise from a single decision, but from a rare balance between nature and place.

At Casa La Rad, altitude, exposure, climate and geological diversity come together to define what we understand as terroir.

Here, the landscape is not a setting. It is the origin of the wine.

WINE

A place at the table…

Subtle. Precise. Born from the earth.

Wines that do not seek to impose themselves, but reveal themselves with calm clarity.

Elegance without artifice.
Expression without excess.

These are wines best understood at their source.

Vision

Barbara Palacios, Winemaker

Bárbara Palacios against the natural backdrop of the vineyard at Casa La Rad, reflecting her connection to the place and the terroir

Barbara Palacios always knew her path would take her far—and, in time, bring her back.

After working across leading wine regions, her understanding of wine has been shaped by experience. At Casa La Rad, that return takes on a particular meaning.

Here, in land that formed her own family history, she finds a vineyard that speaks naturally to her own understanding of wine growing.

A place where vines, vision, and the passage of time all converge.
