53% Garnacha (bush vines), 14% Maturana Tinta, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano
Aging: Aged for 18 months in 225-liter French (2/3) and American (1/3) oak barrels. 25% of the barrels were new oak.
Altitude: Between 535 and 640 meters | 1,750 - 2,100 feet
Average vine age: 36 years
Origin:Vineyard Profile: The grapes for this unique tinto blend tinto from both the highest and lowest plots of theCasa La Rad estate in Rioja Oriental, all of which are located at an altitude of over 500 meters and feature native vegetation.
As with every vintage, Grenache takes center stage and serves as the cornerstone of Tinto Selección Tinto Selección , complemented by other varieties and terroirs from the estate. The final blend is determined with each harvest, always selecting the fruit that best expresses the character of the year.
This approach ensures that each vintage faithfully reflects the conditions and natural diversity of the estate.
Winemaking and Aging:Winemaking: Alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts for 15 days in stainless steel tanks, followed by one week of gentle maceration. Malolactic fermentation in 500 and 225-liter French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes:It displays an intense garnet color in the glass. Complex aromas of black cherry and blackcurrant, with notes of black pepper, coffee bean, nutmeg, sweet spices, and vanilla. Seductive and concentrated on the palate, it is a wine of great complexity, with pronounced fruit expression, remarkable finesse, and a long, persistent finish.
