Our Malvasía Edición Especial the great potential of a very rare Rioja grape variety. It comes from old vines grown in the Ocón Valley, where this unique variety finds ideal conditions for producing wines of great aromatic complexity, depth, and mineral character.

Grape varieties: 100% Malvasía Riojana (bush-trained)

Aging: Between 8 and 10 months in 500-liter semi-new oak barrels

Altitude: 546 meters | 1,800 feet

Average age of vines: 52 years

Origin:

Vineyard profile: The grapes come from Plot 12 in the Presas Bajas area, within theCasa La Rad estate , located in the Ocón Valley in Rioja Oriental.

Nearly fifty years old, these vines naturally produce low yields and highly concentrated grapes. This small area offers a unique expression of the variety, resulting in white wines of great intensity and a broad texture.

Winemaking and Aging:

Winemaking: Fermentation with selected yeasts in 500-liter oak barrels (50% new / 50% semi-new). This wine did not undergo malolactic fermentation.

Tasting Notes:

With a brilliant golden color and great aromatic purity, this Malvasía expresses elegant notes of white flowers, stone fruit, and light honey, accompanied by subtle citrus and mineral nuances. On the palate, it is broad and structured, with an enveloping texture and a natural freshness that balances its richness. Barrel aging adds complexity and delicate toasted notes.
