Casa La Rad - Alma La Rad
Alma La Rad
2020 · Rioja DOCa
Alma La Rad is crafted from a meticulous selection of Garnacha and Tempranillo grapes sourced from some of the estate's most distinctive vineyards.
This wine is built for longevity. Its natural concentration of deep fruit and aging in French oak allow for an extended, layered evolution in the bottle.
Origin:Alma La Rad comes from two plots located in the high foothills of the Ocón Valley, in Rioja Oriental.
Separated by about a hundred metres in altitude and featuring soils of varying composition —one of primarily clay and limestone and the other more mountainous— these vineyards offer complementary expressions of Garnacha and Tempranillo grapes.
This terroir combination results in a wine of great depth, structure and intensity.
Winemaking and Aging:Each variety is vinified separately to preserve its distinct character. After a rigorous selection of the grapes, the wine is aged entirely in 500-litre new French oak barrels, where it develops structure, precision, and aging potential.
Tasting Notes:With great aromatic depth, Alma La Rad combines ripe black fruit, floral notes, and subtle spicy nuances from its aging. On the palate, it is broad and structured, with fine tannins and a balanced acidity that allows it to evolve gracefully for many years in the bottle.
